- the most coveted cycling frames in the world -
January 18, 1956 - August 23, 2018
With deep sadness, we announce the passing of our long time friend, Dario Pegoretti.
Please keep Dario and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
il Maestro Dario
In 1975, Dario began an 8 year apprenticeship with Verona's most renowned framebuilder, Luigino Milani. Though typically painted with someone else's decals, racing pelotons of those days frequently had half their racers on Milani bikes. The world's finest riders such as Roche, Pantani, Battaglin, Chiappucci, Indurain, Tafi, Cipollini, Ghiroto, Fondriest, and many others relied on the Milani shop for their personal race bikes.
Dario finished his apprenticeship in 1983, but continued building in the Milani shop until 1999. He then moved to his own shop near Trento where he and his assistant built about 250 frames per year - each one by the master's hand. Exceptionally well balanced Italian geometry and design, exquisite craftsmanship, and unmatched finish made every Pegoretti frame a genuine masterpiece of art.
