By all accounts, Sram Red has been a huge success. Not resting on its
laurels, for 2012 Sram has redesigned their top group from the top down. With
the exception of the chain and bottom bracket, every piece of the drivetrain has
been re-engineered for even faster, smoother shifting, greater efficiency, and
lighter weight.

The
most challenging races
in
the world
have been won on SRAM RED, including the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia, and
Paris-Roubaix. Seven teams in the 2010 and 2011 Tour were SRAM RED-equipped. Its success
in the pro peloton speaks for itself, delivering pure pro performance with
extralight weight and full-pro function that even the world’s best riders can
fully rely on.
Group includes: carbon crankset, integrated carbon brake/shift
levers, front and rear derailleurs, bottom bracket, brake calipers,
cassette, chain, and full cableset. Select length of crankarms, size of chainrings (reg
53 x 39 or compact 50 x 34), threading of bottom bracket cups (English,
Italian, or BB30 based on your frame), clamp size of front derailleur based on the

bottom bracket or the ultra-smooth ceramic bearings. We highly recommend ceramic
bearings as they are significantly smoother and even more durable than
stainless.
