Zero Pedals ~Speedplay Zeros have 7.5 degrees of float to the inside and the same to the outside for 15 degrees of total float. And, the amount of float is completely adjustable down from 15 degrees to "zero", as you like. The Zero pedals are a pinch stiffer to get into than the older style and they are a pinch stiffer on the release as well. Speedplay recommends the new Zeros for more experienced cyclists though we've found them to be excellent for all except novice riders. Riders who like a lot of float should probably stay with the classics: X1, X2,or X3. But more aggressive riders should definitely check out the Zeros!
In stock now in both models: titanium spindles with gray bodies and stainless steel spindles with blue bodies.
Tip - To extend the life of your cleats, use a "Dry Lube" on the springs. Replace the cleats about every 2000 miles.
Zero
Titanium ~ Official
team issue pedals of the Phonak professional road team. "Zero" design with
stainless or titanium axles.Weight is 164 grams per pair with cleats in the titanium
version and 206 grams per pair with cleats in the stainless version.
Speedplay Zero Stainless pedals ~
Speedplay's newest road pedal allows you to dial in the amount of float you want from a little to a lot! Available with stainless or titanium axles. If you weigh more than 185 lbs we recommend the stainless (on left); the rest of you can safely go for the weight savings of titanium (on right). Weight is 164 grams per pair with cleats in the titanium version and 206 grams per pair with cleats in the stainless version.
Speedplay
Zero Cromo pedals ~A less expensive Zero pedal with cromoly spindles, ideal for recreational riders or 1st time clipless users. An easy heel twist is all it takes to exit, so you are never "trapped" by your pedals. Weighs just 216 grams per pair with cleats.
X/1
= 6-4 titanium spindles, 2 cartridge/needle bearings, 28 degree release angle,
150 grams per pair with
cleats. (If you weigh more than 185 pounds, we
recommend that you use the even sturdier X/2 pedals.)
X/2
= same as
X/1 (above), but with stainless axles rather than titanium. Weight is 198 grams
per pair with cleats.
