Sadly, most people sit their bikes wrongly. By that
we mean, they do not use the tool underneath them in a way that maximizes their own
physical attributes nor do they fully utilize the design of their specific bike. On the
rare occasion where the body and the bike do match, progress occurs automatically. The
rider improves with every riding session.
Kyle's nationally renowned retrofits are designed to give the rider the best possible
ride on their current equipment while giving the body the chance to develop most correctly.
Kyle performs all retrofits himself. He will measure your body and your current bike.
Then, he will adjust your bike to its best possible position. This is followed by an
extensive training session with you on the bike. Essential points covered include:
 | ankling action to break detrimental habits and increase coordination
|
 | proper knee planes to prevent long term damage
|
 | the essential pelvic tilt
|
 | chest position for front end leverage and open breathing
|
 | relaxing with a shoulder shrug
|
 | the body's natural shock absorbers
|
 | the three essential saddle positions
|
 | the early "sweet spot" on the cranks
|
 | the five most valuable handlebar positions - road and mountain
|
 | the three monitors of proper pedal action
|
Because Kyle's time is quite limited, retrofits are only done at
these select times: Wednesday or Thursday afternoons with 1:00, 2:00, or 3:00 pm
start times. Retrofits generally take 1 to 1.5 hours. Call the BiKyle staff at
(610) 525-8442. They will take your preliminary information and get back to you promptly with available times.
The cost is $150. for the session. A new handlebar and/or stem is often suggested; parts
and labor for these items are extra, but there is no pressure to purchase these
items even if recommended.
Retrofits are intended to optimize your ride on your
existing bike; they do not include a design or recommendations for a new
bike.
We do not do retrofits on bikes recently purchased elsewhere - new or used; Kyle's time is
very limited plus that would create bad feelings between shops or friends and we don't
wish to do
that. Also, we don't do retrofits on bikes that were purchased mail-order. Thank you for your understanding.

At the time of your appointment, bring your riding shorts, a
comfortable riding shirt, your cycling shoes plus your bicycle. And, bring a towel; you
will get sweaty!
