Unveiled in the '07 Tour de France, Pinarello's super-frame pushes the limit of high performance to another level. Handmade in Italy of the highest modulus carbon fiber on the planet, the Prince frame weighs a mere 1.8 lbs!
Developed after countless hours of CAD design, power tests, and wind tunnel evaluation, the Prince was then perfected through road tests by a team of the world’s finest riders. On the road, the Prince takes riding to a whole new level. It’s faster through the curves, more secure on technical descents, and more explosive in sprints. It blasts out of corners overcoming the variable pace of racing. Due to the use of 50HM1K carbon fiber, Pinarello was able to reduce the amount of material while actually increasing strength. Frame weight is less than 900 grams for a 54cm! Colors: acid green, sky blue, bianco white, fire red, or Ciak (dark gray with orange contrast)
Why should you spent $4500 on this frame when the newer Paris Carbon frame is available at $3500 to $3650, depending on color? That's a good question with a clear answer - made in Italy. The Prince FP-SL is completely handmade in Italy while the Paris is made under Pinarello's strick procedures, but in Taiwan. Bottom line, after BiKyle's extensive test riding, the Prince is even more secure and smoother than the Paris. If you would like a frame that rides nearly as well as a Dogma Carbon, but at a considerable savings then the Prince FP-SL is the frame to turn to. It won best race bike of the year for 3 years running because in high performance riding it outdoes every frame on the planet other than a Dogma 60.1 or Dogma II. Believe it!
