Team Illes Balears-Banesto, which succeeded iBanesto.com as one of the top
Spanish Division I teams, unveiled its team colours in a presentation in Madrid. The team's jersey is
designed to respect the tradition of the Banesto teams of recent years, while
highlighting the new sponsorship of the four islands which now represent the
title sponsor: Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, and Formentera.
The team also provided a first look at its bicycles, which will be supplied
by the Opera brand. On hand at the presentation were managers José Miguel
Echávarri and Eusebio Unzué, as well as team riders Pablo Lastras and Francisco
Mancebo.
All Opera frames come with custom
designed all-carbon forks and integrated headsets.
Leonardo
FP Carbon ~
The Leonardo FP has a Monocoque high modulus 46HM3K unidirectional carbon
fiber main frame with OPUS Opera carbon fiber fork and rear triangle. The
seatstays and fork use the now-familiar CAD designed "Wave" shape for even
better shock absorption and road control. The massively oversized
"MO.st" bottom
bracket adds stiffness and efficiency where it's needed "most"! A 54cm frames
weighs a featherlike 2.1 lbs! Thanks to the special tube shapes throughout, the
Leonardo FP has a perfect balance between stiffness and comfort for any type of
riding. Available in 2 color choices: new 2007 blue (picture coming soon) or the
Illes Balears team color of black with red, yellow, and blue as pictured on
left.

Giorgione
FP Hydroform ~
The Giorgione is made of state-of-the-art 7003 T6 aluminum matrix tubing that
is shaped with ultra-high pressure liquid for added strength where needed and
extra plushness where desired. The result is one of the most turbo charged
frames on the planet yet one that is still well suited for long days in the
saddle. The hard charging Giorgione is particularly adept on tough descents and
aggressive cornering. Wave shaped full carbon fork and carbon seatstays add to
the smoothness of the ride. A MO.st oversized bottom bracket completes the full
out Ferrari ride. Available in blue or black.

Canova
FP Carbon ~
The Canova FP uses the same tube shapings and Monocoque construction as the
Leonardo FP but the carbon fiber is 30HM3k so it's not quite as feather light.
Yet, a 54cm Canova weighs in at just 2.5 lbs! The Canova also shares the same
wave shaped carbon fork and seatstay shaping of the Leonardo. The MO.st
oversized bottom bracket guarantees a powerful sprint with all energy going into
forward motion, but it accepts all standard sized bottom bracket assemblies. Available in black with blue trim or black with white trim.
