Mavic Helmets ~
Mavic enters the helmet market in 2012 with 3 new Euro-styled models - top of
the line Plasma SLR, $220, mid-level Plasma, $180, and entry level Syncro, $125.
Developed in-house, Mavic surveyed over 25,000 head shapes before finalizing
their universal fit system.
The Plasma SLR features X-Static anti-microbial padding and a carbon fiber
internal structure. The Plasma uses more conventional padding and its internal
structure uses Alutex, a metal reinforced fiberglass. The Plasma also comes with
a visor for off-road riders. The Syncro also comes with a visor, but uses
additional foam instead of internal reinforcements.
Fit and comfort were Mavic’s top priority during design. A slew of small details
add up to a range of helmets that desire serious consideration. Colors will
black as well as yellow.
