595 Mondrian Special Edition~ 860 grams!

Very limited edition of Look's world class 595 frameset. Custom painted in a special commemorative edition of the 1980's powerhouse racing team, La Vie Claire, that featured both Bernard Hinault and Greg Lemond.

Imagine a frame even lighter than the previous leader, the Look 585, yet as incredibly stiff as a Look 486! Thoroughly tested in the 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010 Tours de France, the Look 595 is just such a dream machine. Weighing a mere 1040 grams including the headset and aero seatpost, the 595 is stiff enough for even the most aggressive pro. The 595 frame is 100% VHM (Very High Modulus) carbon fiber and incorporates carbon Nano-technology to increase lug stiffness 27%. The frame and fork are all carbon with aluminum used only in the bearing races in the head tube and the threaded inserts in the bottom bracket. Even the rear dropouts are carbon! Constructed by hand in true 1-piece Ultra-High Modulus carbon, Look has used their 20 years of carbon experience to create a feather weight frame without compromise in overall rigidity or ride performance. The 586 weighs a mere 1050 grams. A true monocoque frame, the rear dropouts are directly compressed into the frame when both the seat and chainstays are molded, resulting in a single-piece rear triangle. This provides a lighter and stiffer frame at the wheel transfer, where it counts most. A replaceable derailleur hanger means repairs are a snap. The patented headset design allows for independent adjustment of the headset even when the stem is removed. And, it saves another 40 grams in weight because no compression plug is needed. Also includes a Look HSC-6 single-piece molded carbon fork that weighs a mere 350 grams yet still meets the New EN 14781 standard for impact strength. 2012 colors are white with black decals or black with white decals.
