"Engage ProPedal on climbs and
small-bump sensitivity drops off, but pedal efficiency noticeably improves.
Flick the setting to open and the Equilink active suspension shines on
everything from sweeping high-speed leaners to lower-velocity 'pick your path'
rock gardens." Mountain Bike, April 2007
Virtue
Team Frame ~
Since the Virtue was designed to be incredibly fast and absolutely
race-worthy in the most technical of terrain, light weight was a top priority.
One of the many beauties of the Equilink system is its inherent compact size and
minimal weight. Since the key suspension members (links) are contained just
behind the seat tube, there's no need to used primitive, heavy tubing to house
pivots on the main tubes. You will not see any interrupted tubing, monstrous
gusseting, or over-designed monocoque applications here.
Front Triangle: What you will see is a very sophisticated yet nearly
bullet-proof 7000 series aluminum front triangle. The top tube utilizes the
latest in Hydroform technology allowing Felt to manipulate and strengthen tubing
without adding unneeded weight. A Felt proprietary Superlight double butted
downtube is met by an internally and externally relieved hourglass head tube at
the top and a 2-piece welded bottom bracket pivot clevis fully machined inside
and out.
Rear Triangle: Carbon fiber was the obvious choice for all four stays
of the rear triangle. Carbon naturally dampens vibration while taking the brunt
of impact and abuse. With its inherent spring-like quality, carbon even allowed
Felt to eliminate the weak link of a pivot at the rear dropouts!
Shocks: All Virtue models were designed to accept any brand of shock
with conventional lengths and without requiring any factory specific settings.
So, you can upgrade this frame as shocks continue to evolve. The Equilink system
offers the utmost in efficiency without requiring platform-valved shocks to mask
mask suspension induced bobbing. The Virtue features cold forged links for
strength and are CNC-machined for precision and light weight. To make service
extra easy, identical and commonly available sealed cartridge bearings are used
throughout the Equilink system.
The Virtue Team frame features a Fox Float RP23 air shock with Pro
Pedal 3-Position lever and rebound adjustment. Color is matte black with gold
decals.
