Choice Italian or English cups (below) to complete your crank installation
Depending on your frame, choose Italian or English threaded aluminum cups to complete your crankset installation. The sealed cartridge bearings included with the crankset insert into these extralight cups and the spindle slides through, 49 grams per pair.
Derailleurs
- Rear ~

The Chorus rear derailleur (on right) is a marvel of beautiful craftsmanship. Its gorgeous combination of carbon fiber and aluminum is incredibly durable; it routinely performs for 40,000+ miles! The Record model (on left) drops 18 grams and adds even more pizzazz by using carbon composite pulley plates as well as a titanium hanger bolt. Almost as durable and fast shifting as Chorus, the Centaur includes the carbon main plate and weighs a mere 25 grams more than Chorus.
| short cages are used for 11t high cogs with 26t lows | |
| medium cages are for 12t high cogs with 29t lows. Medium cages handle a wider gear range, but shift with slightly less precision than short cages |
Routinely good for 40,000+ miles!
Derailleurs
- Front ~ Combined with Campagnolo machined chainrings and proper
adjustment, the Chorus front
derailleur (on right) will provide nearly countless miles of fast, trouble free shifting.
The 2008 Record model (on left) is 5 grams lighter as it uses an extra stiff and
fast carbon fiber outer cage plate. Centaur, which uses less fancy finishing bolts, weighs
16 grams more than Chorus.
FIT: Brazed on front derailleurs are used when
your frame has a corresponding hanger
(pictured on right) permanently or
attached to the frame. They are also used with the
clamp-on BO adapters pictured on right. If you require the front derailleur to
clamp to your bike then carefully measure the outside diameter of your frame's
seat tube at the level of your large chainring.
Tip: All Campy 10 speed front derailleurs work on 9 speed setups. Just unclip the plastic insert on the front of the outer cage plate to widen the cage.
All 2008 Campagnolo front derailleurs for double chainrings work on both regular (53 x 39) chainrings and compacts (50 x34)!

Record and Chorus mechanisms pivot on ball bearings for the smoothest shifting available. Still very smooth, the Centaur levers pivot on bushings. All 3 levers are made of carbon composite to drop as much as 75 grams in weight and look and feel stunning!
*By pushing down on the the thumb lever (pictured on
right) the chain is shifted in opposite direction to the main shifting lever
that sits behind the brake lever. This system is the easiest to use and keep
straight in technical conditions.

*All Campagnolo ERGO levers are compatible with both double and triple chainring setups. No need to change expensive levers just to change shifting setups!
Record and Chorus 10 speed ERGOs can shift through the entire 10 speeds of the cassette with just one push! No other system can handle this important task so quickly and easily.
*Campagnolo front ERGOs include numerous "micro-clicks" in order to fine tune front derailleurs around the chainline for the quietest and smoothest running performance on the planet.
Includes full Campagnolo cable set (for brakes and derailleurs), a $60 value!

Brakesets
~ Campagnolo "skeleton" brakes, first introduced in 2007, are nearly as stiff as the previous models while dropping 25 grams in weight. And, they look stunning! The front brakes are more powerful than the rears to prevent dangerous rear wheel lockup.
| Record = 279 grams | |
| Chorus = 326 grams | |
| Centaur = 334 grams |
Forged, rather than CNC machined, Campy's brakes promise years of trouble-free service.

Cassettes
~Record cassettes have four titanium cogs!
Chains
~
Included
in both Chorus and Centaur groups, the 269 gram Chorus chain provides 3000-5000
miles of smooth, trouble free performance. The 255 gram Record chain uses hollow
pivot pins for even lighter weight without sacrificing performance.
Headsets
~ Though there are many sizes and fits of headsets offered,
Campagnolo
makes just two levels: Chorus and Record. Both are precision ground
to .001 millimeter for incredibly smooth performance. Both include Selform under
the races for absorbing large impacts without damage. Record headsets, other
than hiddensets, add grease injector ports on the lower cup for great ease in
maintenance.
Note: Getting a new frame from Cycles BiKyle? We will advise you of just the right size and type of headset you need. And if purchased along with the frame, there will be no charge for installation. All machining, cutting, and pressing will be done with top quality Campy, Var, and BR tools by mechanics that have done this precision work hundreds and hundreds of times! Don't trust headset installations to just anyone, leave it to the pros at Cycles BiKyle.
Hubs ~

The internationally patented Campagnolo hubs are an engineering marvel. Substantially redesigned in 2007, the new Campagnolo hubs exalt the qualities which made the previous ones famous all over the world. Used in both Record and Chorus groups, the new Record hubs are lighter and stronger than ever. The smooth running 15-ball bearings have remained unchanged. Centaur hubs used sealed cartridge bearings that never need adjusting.
| Record hubs are black and weigh 341 grams per pair | |
| Centaur hubs are silver and weigh 481 grams per pair |
Select the hole drilling, 32 or 36h, to match your rim. Riders over 200 lbs or really rough riders should consider 36h. Most others do well on 32h.
